On the site, an unaware person would hardly find it; about 8 m high hillock overgrown with mixed forest. Mostly birch-trees are growing there. The top of the hillock is about 50 x 20 m large. In the direction from NE to SW along the western side of the hillock, seemingly an old road is crossing it.
On the Church Hill once there was an ash layer found. According to tales, on the hill there used to be a church. No construction or foundation remains are visible nowadays, and if there were some church in the Medieval Times, it would be a small wooden building. It is possible that this hillock is a cult site corresponding to the hill fort, and in this case its dating is older. The site has not been archaeologically studied.
Remarkable as an ancient site as it adds to the cultural scenery of the Pujalgi Hill Fort. The nearby Pujalgi Hill Fort was described in 1923 by a hill fort researcher Ernests Brastiņš in his book about Kurzeme’s hill forts (Chapter 11, p. 133).
