A completely free-standing tree in an open field. Coals and small stone have been found at the tree, but most probably these were removed from the nearby fields. The girth of the elm – 3,87 m – implies it could be around 200 years old. Probably this elm is a sprout from another elder elm, which previously grew in this place.
According to the legends the place was an ancient cult site. The elm was called a sacrificial elm. Ancient burial ground is found nearby.
The nearby ancient burial ground is from 16th – 17th century, but the elm is much younger.
