In Dižlāņi Idols’ Hill which, judging by the name, is an ancient cult site nowadays there is old cemetary and ruins of a chapel. At the edge of the cemetary there are two local significance border stones from the modern times which are still in their original location on the borders.
The Idols’ Hill might be the cult site of the impressive Vecpils Hillfort nearby. Nowadays nothing reminds of the ancient sacred site. Various places on the hill feature a view to the surroundings and the valley of the 18 km long Lāņupe River.
The Idols’ Hill looks particularly nice in early spring when trees have not turned green yet and anemones blossom in the old cemetery.
